Guest Information


Beverly Golf and Country Club recognizes the contemporary lifestyle of our members and guests, while respecting the traditions of golf. Tasteful and respectful attire is expected in all public areas of the Club.

The dress code applies to all members, guests and children over the age of five. Members are responsible for informing their guests of the dress code requirements. The dress code does not apply for the transitional area between the parking lot to the locker room. As a courtesy to each other, we ask members and their guests to follow the following guidelines:

Golf Course and Practice Areas

Appropriate attire for the golf course and practice areas includes:


  • Golf shirts with collars, turtlenecks, mock necks, or blade collars are acceptable.
  • All Golf shirts must be worn tucked in.
  • Golf shorts must be Bermuda style – cargo shorts are not permitted.
  • Footwear must be golf specific footwear with soft spikes or spike-less.
  • Hats and visors must be worn with the peak forwards.


  • Golf shirts must have a collar OR sleeves OR both.
  • Golf shirts must be tucked in unless they are designed to be worn untucked.
  • Golf specific shorts, skorts or pants are permitted – tennis or gym clothing is not permitted.
  • Leggings are permitted as a layer under shorts, skirts or skorts.
  • Dresses specific for golf are permitted.
  • Footwear must be golf specific footwear with soft spikes or spike-less.
  • Hats and visors must be worn with the peak forwards.

Club House

Appropriate attire for the Club House includes:

  • Tasteful and respectful attire is permitted, including golf attire as noted for both men and women.
  • Dress shirts and golf shirts may be untucked if designed to be worn untucked.
  • Open toed shoes/sandals are permitted in all areas including the members’ lounge and patio.
  • Denim is acceptable; however, it must be neat and presentable with a tailored fit and finish, and may not be ripped, frayed, faded, tattered, or distressed. This includes denim skirts and dresses.  Denim shorts are not permitted.
  • Women are permitted to wear tops without collars or sleeves (summer dresses as an example).

Unacceptable club house attire includes:

  • Hats or visors on the upper level of the clubhouse.
  • T-Shirts anywhere in the club house or patio.
  • Gym or workout wear.
  • Pool attire including swim wear, flip flops and cover ups.

Pool Area

  • All members, children and guests wearing pool attire, walking to and from the pool area must wear suitable covering and footwear.
  • No pool attire is allowed on the patio, dining areas, golf course, pro shop, or golf practice areas.


Club staff has been granted the authority by the Board of Directors to refuse golf course and clubhouse privileges to anyone not complying with the dress code. Only staff is entitled to address the dress code violations with members and guests. Members should not approach the member or guest in violation but may inform the General Manager of such infraction. Where necessary, staff will inform the General Manager of any dress code infractions and the Board of Directors will take such action as is warranted in the circumstances, which may include a reminder of the dress code, a written warning about violations of the dress code, meeting with the Governance Committee, or suspension of member’s privileges.
