Club Rules

As all members of Beverly are equal shareholders, all members have both the right to be treated equally and fairly and the obligation to treat other members in a like manner. Accordingly, the club has established a detailed set of rules that lay out the manner in which the club will be governed and which lay out the expectations as to rights and privileges which accrue to the member from his/her membership and also his/her obligations to the club and the other members.

While at first glance the rules seem lengthy and detailed, they represent a continual work in progress and a constant refinement over a number of years to cover as many of the issues that can arise from a diverse membership of such a club. They are as such in order to provide clear guidelines for the settlement of any disputes that may arise between members or between a member and the club as well as to lay out a member’s rightful expectations arising from his/her membership and the obligations that go hand in hand with those rights.

The rules are designed to maximize the equal enjoyment of the course and all the club’s facilities for all members. They cover the following areas:

Categories of membership and Share ownership: Beverly offers a range of membership types and these and the details of share ownership are outlined under the membership section of this website ( LINK HERE ) but are also outlined in detail in the club rules.

The Golf course: These rules cover hours and tee times including any restrictions for other than full members such as Juniors, 5 day members etc., the booking of tee times and guest times policy, ladies and men’s nights bookings priorities etc. There is also a set of range use and tournament rules that govern these areas of the club’s operation.

Dress Code : See separate section of the web page

Speed of play expectations: As a private club the expectation is a round of no more than four hours and ten minutes and tips are provided to help speed up play. The procedure for Marshalls to enforce speed of play is outlined and the policy of warning for repeated slow play violations are outlined.

Club House rules: Covers all aspects of the management and use of the clubhouse, locker rooms and public rooms.

Guest Rules: Beverly welcomes all guests but to protect the rights of the members to easy tee access there is a guest policy that does include the limitations on the number of guests and the number of times a guest may play in any month. There is a special policy for out of town guests (over 125 km away) to allow more extended playing privileges.

Family Rules: Beverly is very much a family club, and members enjoy the advantage of a wonderful new, heated swimming pool in addition to the golf facilities. Children of members are welcome as guests of the club, and a set of rules is in place to govern their access to the clubs facilities, pool, club house and course.

General Rules and Code of Conduct: These rules cover the business side of the club’s relationship with its members covering such areas as dues, payment procedures, charging policies, complaints procedures, resignations etc. The conduct section outlines the conduct expected of the members when in the club and on the course including the expected courtesies for other members, tee privileges, power and pull carts use and restrictions such as around greens etc.
